Sli Eile is an initiative of the Irish Jesuits that provides a wide range of faith and justice activities for Young Adults aged 18 - 35. From International Volunteering in Zambia and Colombia to helping children at risk in after-schools prokects in Dublin's north inner city, from Gospel Choir Masses in Gardiner Street and Ballymun to exploring spirituality in small support groups, from taking time out climbing Croagh Patrick to days of quiet reflection in Glendalough; from wlaking through the Wicklow Mountains to walking throught Pyrenees on the road to Santiage de Compostela, from suports on a Saturday afternoon to Certificates in Social Spirituality; Sli Eile offers real choices - you choose.

Bishop John Noonan. Past pupil John Noonan was consecrated auxilary bishop of Miami on 24th August 2005. John attended Crescent till 1967. He then went as a boarder to Mungret College S.J., where he completed his Leaving Certificate in 1969. We attach a photograph of the confirmation Class of 1961, where John is on the left in the front row.

Louis Mulcahy
Louis' family came to live in Limerick in 1953, and he began to attend the Crescent till he completed his Leaving Certificate in 1958. Today he runs Louis Mulcahy Pottery, Clothar, Baile 'n Fheirtearaigh, Dingle, Co. Kerry. http://www.louismulcahy.com/ . In 2004 he became the first craftsperson to be honoured by the National University of Irleand with an honorary doctorate. Louis is married to Lisbeth Mulcahy, the designer, weaver and tapestry artist.

Kevin Wallace (1972) is the producer of "The Lord of the Rings" currently on stage at the Drury Lane Theatre, London. Kevin has also produced the Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals "Whistle Down the Wind", The Beautiful Game", "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Sunset Boulevard". His other London productions include the critically acclaimed "Gagarin Way" and "Eden". Saul Zaentz, whose film productions include the award-winning "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "Amadeus", " The Unbearable Lightness of Being" and "The English Patient", was awarded the BAFTA 'Academy Fellowship'. 1979 Reamonn KEARY (Wadding 1979) is head examiner for the Royal Irish Academy of Music. In 2005 they will examine 30,000 students this year. Every Tuesday from March 29th for 8 weeks Ray will de-mystify the terminology and give helpful hints for students on Drivetime Classics on Lyric FM.
Donald P.McDONALD (Delaney 1979) is Professor of MCB Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University Medical Center, North Carolina, USA. Donald visited the school in October as part of an Irish visit to promote the study of Science in Irish Schools.

Mike McMahon (1981) qualified as a chartered accountant and worked for the IDA and Shannon Development. He is married and lives in Nenagh, and now works as a financail advisor.
1983 Danny DEPTUCK
(Doyle 1983) studied Physics in Queens University in Canada, and did a PhD in Princeton in 1994. He taught Physics at Queens and now works in
Optoelectronics
with the Canadian Microelectroics Corporation. Danny has received several awards and has numerous publications.
Seamus (Shay) DOWNEY(1983) qualified as an accountant, and after working for BP in Bruselles, he now runs a chain of hairdressing salons in Poland.
Paul FITZGERALD (Doyle 1983) is married and lives in Ennis, where he works as a representative for a drinks company.
Eddie FITZGIBBON (Doyle 1983) is working in the financial services sector. He is married and lives in Ennis.
Colin McMAHON (Doyle 1983) worked for a Vetinary Surgeon for 16 years, and had a practice in Kildysard, Co. Clare, since 1996. Colin is married with a family of 3. He is now pursuing a career in teaching Science, which includes some teaching at Crescent.

Gary KIRBY is the trainer of the Limerick Hurling team that have earned a place in the 2007 All Ireland Final. Gary has been entered in the Crescent College Comprehensive Roll of Honour, for his achievemnts in hurling, which included his captaining of the Limerick Hurling Team's National League title.

1987
Tony O'Connor (Gonzaga ): While at school Tony rowed with Shannon RC. He won the World Championship Rowing Gold Medal in the lightweight coxless pair with Gearoid Towey in Lausanne in 2001. Tony had previously won two silver medals in the same event in 1996 and 1997. He represented Ireland at theOlympic Games in Atlanta 1995 (4th Place) and in Lausanne 2000 (11th place). He coached the Irish rowers in Athens in 2004. Tony was inducted into the Irish Rowing Hall of Fameand is currently the teacher in charge of rowing at Christ's College, Christchurch, New Zealand. One of his early sporting memories is of being on a Crescent Gaelic Football team that was defeated 3 - 27 to 0 -1 by St. Clement's in Gaelic Football, but he points out that Crescent scored first.

Garech MULCAHY (Gonzaga) is married to Valerie Collins, and they have a baby boy, Rian. Garech has been working for Apple for the last 4 years. They recently moved to Austin, Texas.
Rosemary REDDAN (Stephenson) now lives in Bolton, Lancashire, UK, where she works for a firm of Accountants, as a Secretary in the Insolvency Department. The photograph shows her on a visit to Ireland in 2006, with her partner Neil, and children Erin and Matthew.

Ray Jordan who left Crescent in 1988 has been appointed as Director of Self Help , http://www.selfhelp.ie/selfhelp/Main/Home.asp an Irish development agency engaged in promoting and implementing integrated sustainable development programmes in rural Africa. Ray was previously the Emergency Coordinator for GOAL, and he is pictured at a recent visit to the JVI offices in Limerick.
Orla KIRBY (Meyer 1988) has been appointed as an International Golf Rules Official, with five assignments in the Southern Region in 2006. Orla, who is handicap secretary at Adare Manor Golf Club, obtained one of the highest marks ever recorded, after four days of intensive tests at St. Andrews in Scotland.

1991 Ed RICE (Chabanel 1001) has been appointed asHead of Sports Presentation for the 2006 Asian Games. These will feature some 5000 athletes and will take place in Doha, Qatar from December 1 to 15, 2006. Athletes from 45 countires will compete in 39 sports, and will provide more than 2000 hours of TV programming with 50 countires expected to broadcast pictures during the 15 day schedule. Previously Ed had been Head of TV and Media for the International Triathlon Union.
1992 Andrew McNAMARA (Canisius) is having considerable success as a National Hunt jockey, and won the Queen Mother Championship Chase on Newmill, on March 15th 2006 at Cheltenham..
1993: Joseph CONWAY works as a Pharmacist in Melbourne, and was married in the Spring of 2005 to an Australian, Kathleet Stevens.
1994: Simon CARSWELL (Xavier) is the News Editor of the Sunday Business Post, and the author of Something Rotten - Irish Business Scandals, Imprint by Gill and McMillan, September 2006.
Tadgh CONWAY qualified as a Plumber, and now works in Sydned, where he is in contact with a group of othe past Crescent stduents.
Paul GLEESON (Xavier): . On 29th November 2005 Paul set out with Toni Holmes to row across the Atlantic. Paul and Toni have written an account of their successful 86 day voyage in Little Lady, One Man, Big Ocean, - Rowing the Atlantic. The publisher is Collins Press, October 2006, ISBN 1-905172-34-6.

David WALLACE (Carvahlo) has been named in the Irish Rugby squad to Play Italy on Febryary 4th 2006. David already has 22 caps for Ireland and two Lions caps.

Caitriona JACKMAN (Hayes) finishing her doctorate at the University of Leicester, where she analysed Saturn's magnetic field and its dynamics. In July 2006 she started post-doctoral research at Imperial College, University of London. She is working on the associate on the
Cassini Huygens space mission, the largest interplanetary spacecraft ever built and destined for a four-year tour of Saturn and its moons
. Caitriona is a regular contributor, in Irish, on scienctific topics, at TnaG.
:Eoin REDDAN (Delaney) who plays rugby for Wasps, is the only uncapped player to be included in the panel of 22 players to play for Ireland against Italy on February 4th 2006.

Kieran NOONAN (Spinola) was presented with an award for obtaining 1st place his First Year Examinations at the University of Limerick. This CAODO Solutions award was made on 23 rd October 2006 at the University.

Robbie McNAMARA was awarded the Irish Examiner National Junior Sports Star Award for horse racing for 2006 at a special ceremony held in Dublin.
Eoin O'CATHASAIGH has been awarded an Entrance Exhibition Award into Trinity College, Dublin. Eoin is also appearing in the TG4 drama series, Aifric, which depicts the big issues of life which affect young teens. It is broadcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5.00 p.m.
